Worth it

Good for beginners, but seems to be made to last. I took this our of the box and immediately did some super fishing for walleye, northern Pike and this tell did not disappoint. Seems a little body compared to more expensive reels, but performed very well in the first few outings. Worth taking a chance, for the money.

Great reel for the price

This is an excellent baitcasting reel at a very reasonable price. It is fantastic for slightly heavier lures such as swim baits, crank baits and any stick baits.I do not have a lifetime of experience using baitcasters so for relative new comers these types of reels are full of pitfalls like birds nests. I can say this is very high quality and can be adjusted so there are rare. It is very sensitive for even the slightest weight changes. Simply watch a YouTube video or two about how to adjust these and it is easy. Seeing it is better than describing it. The point is this reel is better than the price.I bought this to use with a shorter rod on my kayak, not the shore. It casts fantastic. I use braid in my spinning reels but put 15 pound mono on this and even if there is a birds nest it pulls out with ease.I hate to even call this a starter model because everything is smooth, especially the retrieve. I have enjoyed it and plan to use it even more next summer!

Inexpensive, easy to use, but effective!

This is an amazing starter reel. KastKing quality is the same as the big names but these reels are actually affordable. I was looking to purchase a setup for pike and musky fishing in Canada. “Real” musky gear is insanely priced, and for how infrequently I get to go casting, I figured a cheaper bass setup would do, so I bought this. It was easy to set up and easy to learn. I’ve used it for two summers and it has pulled in A LOT of big fish, the biggest being this 43” Northern I caught this summer. It handles great, is lighter than some baitcasters so you don’t get tired, and it’s easy to use for newbies. I’ve taught several people how to cast with this, and they had far fewer bird nests than any other reel I’ve used. I use it to throw a wide variety of lures and it handles it all really well. I’m going to purchase another KastKing to add to the collection.
