KastKing Unveils New Icon Logo Design

KastKing uses crowdsourcing to create dynamic icon image for recognition in global markets.

New Bold Look KastKing Icon Logo

KastKing®, (www.kastking.com) an international manufacturer of recreational fishing tackle and a member of the Eposeidon, Inc. family of brands has introduced a new symbolic logo that reflects the brand’s fishing tackle persona.


KastKing® surveyed various focus groups on several continents to decide on the final image. Members of each group were given various pairs of artist’s concepts to compare and choose from.  Results from each group were compared and scored in each elimination round. Their final selection is an easily identifiable icon that can be recognized in any market regardless of language or culture.


KastKing’s bold new icon image’s angular features and representative K reflect the brand’s spelled out logo. A shark-like fish head draws the eye into the image and enhances the fishing theme.  KastKing® will continue to also use its spelled out logo where applicable.


“As a global fishing tackle provider with products being sold in more than 150 countries, we wanted an image that not only had outstanding eye-appeal, but would also identify the brand anywhere.  This image works whether people’s written language is English, or relies on characters expressed in Cyrillic, Hebrew, Arabic, or Asian fonts, or any other language.  We are proud of this new dynamic icon, which will be used on fishing tackle, apparel, and promotional items world-wide,” says Tom Gahan marketing director at Eposeidon.

The company plans to include the new shark-head icon in several promotions during the 2016 holiday shopping season.


Eposeidon team member Ivan Ip, a graduate of the Hong Kong School of Design with a degree in creative media led the comparative image creation process, said from his studio in Shenzhen, “I was glad to be part of the process. With inspiration from the KastKing brand name combined with the passions among the survey participants and all of my colleagues, I look forward to watching the brand continue to grow under this new icon.”
