A good entry point to casting gear for new anglers

So, I recently received this combo with the casting rod and reel, and I thought I'd leave a fair and honest review for others that might be interested.
I ordered directly from Kast King. That experience was a positive one. I accidently ordered a RH reel when I wanted a LH model. A quick email to them had that fixed in short order. Shipping was quick and the packaging well done and secure. No issues there at all!
The combo looks awesome! The green color really pops and is fun to use. No one will miss you on the bank with this thing! LOL
The rod is reasonably well made for its price point. The reel seat feels solid. It has a nicely positioned hook keeper on the side. It's made of plastic, but so long as it's not abused, I don't see that being an issue. The sensitivity is decent, again for the price point of the rod. It fits nicely in my hand as well. Overall, I am pleased with the rod.
The reel is where this combo falls a bit short. The reel looks great, but it is significantly over-braked. The brakes have to be kept at or near the minimum position to cast lure weight ranges supported by the ML tip, regardless of spool tension. Even then, it's hard to prevent pulling to the left when casting. All other aspects of the reel function well, with a smooth retrieve and good drag tension. The reel fits nicely in hand as well and mates to the rod well too.
I'd say overall, for those with less casting gear experience, this would be a good entry point. For more experienced anglers, this combo is not going to impress overly much.

I have a few bait caster setups and surprisingly enough this one tops even my most expensive set up. I took it out and compared it side-by-side with other brands and this one is hands-down one of the most easiest, casting reels I have used. It’s extremely easy to dial in and you can set it up close casting and long casting. I was able to pull in three lunkers with absolutely no issues. This is by far my favorite setup.
